Go Utes!

The Utes creamed UNLV last week (at home) and we enjoyed every minute of the game from the student section of the Rice Eccles Stadium.


We started the evening at Red Robin. You can't beat the endless steak fries...


In honor of the 10th anniversary of the Eccles stadium, the Eccles family payed for a little firework action. Cole got a couple of great shots!

Kickin' it in Kamas

In honor of Labor Day weekend, Cole and I headed about 80 miles east of SLC for a few days of camping with our friends, Ashley and Jarad.

We set off after work on Friday, arriving at the Iron Mine Camp site with just enough time to set up camp and get a roaring fire underway.

On Saturday morning we decided to go for a hike about 6 miles away from our camp site. Other than the fact that I started being "allergic to nature," the hike was so beautiful with shade most of the way! After a fabulous view of Granddaddy lake, we headed back to camp for a yummy meal of tin foil dinners and dutch oven apple goodness.

We rounded out the trip with a good night's rest under the summer's first rain storm and an amazing breakfast on Sunday morning.

Welcome to Big Sky Country

Between semesters for Cole, we thought we would sneak away for a few days of relaxation at my aunt and uncle's cabin in Montana.

So we loaded up our car with our bikes, Cole's golf clubs, sleeping bags and camping gear and headed north. Their place is right on the edge of Swan Lake which, incidentally, is surrounded by beautiful mountains and thousands of pine trees.

While we were there we got to relax on the beach, water ski (I stayed up this year and Cole learned how to slalom), Cole spent an entire day golfing in Big Fork, mountain bike with my dad, enjoy huckleberry ice cream and hang with my adorable cousins.

Eight Ball Tournament on Ogden River

I got to spend yesterday morning at the base of the Ogden river for an Eight Ball Tournament a client of mine was hosting. If you are unfamiliar with the game (no worries, I was too)....essentially the race is a cross between a drag race and demolition derby on water.

Kayakers make their way down a class II/III rapid, where along the way sponsored athletes lie in wait to create obstacles.I think we had close to 30 kayakers participate in the event. (Not bad for a first year event.) I sure did feel bad for a guy who got flipped and then dragged a few several feet under water. Luckily, the only damage done was to his demo boat. :)
