Autumn Wonderland

We made the trek south to Thanksgivings Point's Cornbelly's festivities this weekend and had such a blast. We had never been and honestly, weren't sure what to expect. Verdict-We loved it!

We convinced Aunt Baylee to join us, elating Crew to no end.

I had to hold myself back from taking photos of every attraction. Am I the only mom who needs help remembering to step back and enjoying things instead of stressing about documenting everything?

Crew is exploring a range of facial expressions lately and I tried to capture a few of the ones that made me smile that day.

Turned around to find brother and sister in a rousing game. I love this family and how much they love to hang with each other!

These wooden play toys were incredible. Crew loved the train, dump truck and Noah's Ark.

Fighting the fire!

I spent my birthday away from my boys on a work trip and to help make up for it, Cole surprised me with a plan to spend a late birthday weekend in the Big Apple. He was there the week prior for work so I was able to join him on the tale end of his trip. Yeah!

For any of you on Instagram, some of these photos will be repeats, but here we go!

After taking the red eye flight out, I spent a few hours resting in Cole's hotel and then hit the financial district for some quick shopping. My mission was to nab half priced Broadway tickets at the seaside TKTS booth. 100 percent success! No line and tickets for my most desired show!

Traveling essentials for the red eye flight out

Mary Poppins (amazing!) and a late night dinner at the Times Square Shake Shack.

Amazing display in a little print shop I visited in the financial district.

On Saturday, we were ready to hit up Central Park and some shopping like it was nobody's business. But what is shopping without some essential carbs and calories?

Stuffed pillows/wall display. I was in awe.

We sampled the vanilla bean with strawberry filling, coconut cream and the famous raspberry.  So yummy but wished we had opted for the oatmeal instead of the raspberry.

New York offered us gloomy skies but the perfect fall temperatures for a spin through the park.

Then on to SOHO for a busy day of shopping and of course, more food.

Brazilian Corn...hmmm. I could eat these weekly I am sure!

Bam!

Every statement necklace a girl could ask for.

On Sunday we took a few hours to visit the 9/11 memorial site. The grounds are beautiful and the area is reverent with people reflecting on everything that happened there.

Survivor Tree: Love this Story!

The memorials where the towers formerly stood.

After having our tickets checked at 4 different checkpoints.

Such a wonderful way to end the weekend!

Welcome to the Jungle

Well, or rather the Fort Worth Zoo.

This was another must-do on our list while in TX and OK. Cole and I had been once when we were dating but since that was, gasp, nine years ago we decided to take Crew. True to form, he loved the animals and loved all the attention from his Mimi while we were there. The train ride at the end save us from a meltdown I am sure as our lil guy was plum tired. Such a fun date!

Crew continues to love the elephants best but a family of giraffes seemed to run a close second

Such a good sport in his wagon.

Checking out the bird house with Mimi

End-of-the-day ride on the "Choo-Choo" train.

So happy!

A Walk Down Memory Lane

Since I already admitted going home for my 10-year reunion...everyone knows I am officially old. :)
We kicked off the weekend with a home game against our intercity rivals, Edmond North.

We had a great turn out for the game and I was fortunate enough to spend most of the game catching with a few families from my home ward that I haven't seen in 8-9 years. It was such a surprise that they were there and I enjoyed catching up with them on the news of the folks I grew up with.

Saturday morning we met up for a BBQ and tour of our high school.
The BBQ was a great time for folks to show off babies and talk in smaller groups. After that we caravaned over to the high school. One of our classmates is now a coach and photography teacher, so we got the grand tour of the many additions that have been made since we left.

Randomly, one of my very favorite teachers was at the school that day with the academic team and several of us got to spend a few minutes with him. He is retiring next year and the meeting was such a serendipitous surprise!

The main event for the reunion was an evening at a local brewery. We provided drinks, food, music and it seems everyone had a blast.

Catching up with dear friend and fellow pom teammate, Sarah Reed.

Checking in classmates and collecting the dollars!

Thank you to my high school bestie, Hanna and her hubby for all their help behind the scenes at the registration table and such. Love you guys!

Where to start. For the man who has loved and supported me through a challenging year of planning and stressing. And then being the perfect mix of cool and social as I ran around trying to catch up with everyone. So grateful this is the man I was able to leave with at the end of the night!
Random of FYI: My outfit for the night was a huge hit since I unknowingly sported the colors of Oklahoma's relatively new NBA team, the Thunder. Cole was quick to correct everyone that we are true Mavericks fans. Its been too long since I've been home! :)
